How to Record SexLikeReal with CaptureGem

CaptureGem saves public SexLikeReal VR cam shows to your computer. No SexLikeReal account is required. This guide walks you from installing the app to finding the saved video.

Record SexLikeReal in 5 steps

Free to start, and the same steps on Windows, macOS and Linux.

  1. Step 1: Install CaptureGem

    CaptureGem is free to download and use, with no account needed. Download CaptureGem for Windows, macOS or Linux and open the desktop app.

    If you already have CaptureGem, update to the latest version.

  2. Step 2: Copy the model's cam page link

    Open the model's cam page on SexLikeReal and copy the address. Its last part is the model's label, which CaptureGem uses to find the show. Capitalization doesn't matter.

    The names and numbers in these examples are placeholders; use the ones from the real page.

  3. Step 3: Add the stream

    Go to the Record tab and paste the link into Enter URL or Username in the Add Stream panel; CaptureGem switches Select Website to SexLikeReal on its own. Prefer typing? Pick SexLikeReal under Select Website and enter just the label.

    Keep Monitor Only switched off so the stream is saved, then click Add Stream.

  4. Step 4: Check the recording status

    While the model is broadcasting in VR, the row switches to Recording within a few seconds. Otherwise the Status column explains why:

    Private
    The model is in a private show.
    Offline
    The model is offline or away. A misspelled label also shows Offline, so copy the label from the model's page if a live model stays offline.
    Errored
    "video3D URL not found" means the model is online but not sending a VR stream. CaptureGem only records SexLikeReal's VR stream.

    Hover over a status for more detail, such as the reason behind an Errored status.

  5. Step 5: Find your recording

    When a recording finishes, CaptureGem converts it into a video file; long recordings can take a little while. Open the Review tab to play, trim, tag or delete it, or click Open Video Folder on the Record tab.

    Recordings are MP4 files by default. With Premium, each file runs up to 60 minutes by default and auto-record starts the next one straight away. You can change the save location, the file length (Cap Video Segments at Duration (Minutes)) and the container in Settings.

Free version and Premium auto-record

The free version saves up to 5 minutes per recording and lets you add up to 10 models. It records a model when you add or start them while they are live, so if the model was offline, start the recording again later.

Premium removes those limits and adds auto-record: select the model on the Record tab, choose Modify Auto Record under Actions and pick Record Always. CaptureGem then records whenever the model comes online and restarts after a disconnect. To do this for every model you add, turn on Auto Record All Newly Added Models in Settings.

The Monitor tab shows live previews of everything you are recording.

Watching VR recordings

VR recordings are saved as side-by-side MP4 files whose names end in _F120_LR: a 120-degree fisheye picture with the left and right eye next to each other.

Any VR video app that opens files from your computer can play them. In HereSphere (available on Steam), open the advanced settings, choose Fisheye and side-by-side (SBS), set the field of view to 120 degrees and set the aspect ratio to auto so the picture isn't stretched.

SexLikeReal notes and troubleshooting

  • Open In Browser

    For SexLikeReal models, Open In Browser goes to the SexLikeReal home page rather than the model's page.

  • Bandwidth

    SexLikeReal delivers one high-resolution VR stream, so Max Resolution Per Site has no effect on these recordings. Monitor Only pulls the full VR stream as well and uses as much bandwidth as recording.

  • Thumbnails

    Previews on the Review and Monitor tabs only show the left eye of the VR picture.

  • Dropped connections

    After a disconnect CaptureGem reconnects immediately and carries on in a new part; the parts are joined into one video during conversion. If recordings keep ending early, check your connection speed or raise Network Timeout (Seconds) in Settings > Advanced Settings.

  • Recording won't convert

    Update CaptureGem to the latest version first; it repairs many damaged VR recordings during conversion. A broadcast that never delivers a complete picture can't be converted.
